- Sit in front of Peet's to have our coffee/tea and sometimes bagels from Noah's.
- Walk to the bookstore where Evelyn heads straight to the baby/kid section, with its carpeted bench, toys, and other babies and kids (and books!).
- Visit Ambassador Toys, where John, carrying Evelyn in the backpack, gets giggles out of her by playing with the various puppets and different variations of jack-in-a-box.
(She has not moved like this before or since this single time that I happened to catch on video.)
Thanks Jennifer!

It's so nice to firsthand from a mom what there is to do around West Portal. Can't wait to be neighbors! : ) Evelyn is growing amazingly!
Both girls are so cute!! The video and also Jennifer's picture... tell us more about Jen's picture, etc. Come on, Jen, write and fill us in :)
Hi Barbara! How's it going east side? Hope things are well since I saw you last :)
My Dad sent the picture over cos I kept emailing them pictures of Evelyn and my Dad wanted to remind me that I once was a cute baby too. Hehe.
The picture is me leaning against the piano stool, which by now is even older than me. We had just moved to a new house which might explain my weirded out look.
But yeah, I didnt walk until I was two even though I was chatting away by the time I was one. My parents were worried and brought me to see a specialist who said that babies usually either developed speech or walking first and not to worry as I'd walk when I was good and ready!
Well, I dont think my grandmother liked that explanation. She was hardcore my Granny Swords (named after the town she lived in).
Just before my second birthday my parents went into hospital to give birth to my sister Frances. I was left with my Granny (in Swords) and I dont know how she did it, but by the time my parents arrived back with my new sister I was walking. My Mom promptly burst out crying because she missed her first baby's first steps and my granny wouldnt tell her how she got me to walk.
To the day she died she stuck by the story that I just got up and walked acress the room. My mother, however, is inclined to believe that she probably told me that Id get no food unless I got up and walked :) I wouldnt put it past her. But my Granny Swords is probably the person who has died that I miss the most. To this day when ever I talk (or write) about her, I cry.
So Im honoured to be mentioned so nicely on the blog.
But now Im crying in work.
Great!!!!
Now I'm crying because Jennifer was crying. Such a nice story...that is the wonderful thing about these blogs they connect us all together.
p.s. Evelyn's head bobbing...too sweet for words.
